Weekend Workshop: When Tradition meets Modern Artists
Romanian tradition has inspired for centuries the local people, but not only, it has and continues to inspire artists and designers.
During the weekend workshop we will take a look on the traditional embroideries and motifs.
Dyeing with plants is so fascinating that we will take look and try out different plants and flowers and see the result.
After dying some fabrics we will embellish them with some traditional motifs. This time we will get creative with needle and thread and make our own summer bag.
We will make a mood board to decorate a traditional Romanian house being inspired by Brâncusi.

There will be relaxing time to walk around in the village and discover what the local people make.
And this year there is also a Sonoro festival in the area, some chambre music in the fortified church of Viscri.

You will stay in a small village where it seems life came to a stop. Viscri is one of the hidden treasures you still find in Romania.
WORKSHOP is for all who is interested in a ROMANIAN TRADITIONS - HANDCRAFT WORK - INTERIOR DESIGN
WORKSHOP TOPICS
studying Romanian embroideries, traditional symbols and the work of Brâncusi
dyeing some fabrics with plants and vegetables, which we will use later for our embroideries
studying how to start an interior design project, making floor plan and mood board
PROGRAM
Arriving on Friday 31th of May: Workshop on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2th of June - leaving Sunday afternoon
a day will look as follow:
SATURDAY
Breakfast at 9AM - Workshop from 10AM till 1PM - lunch break - Workshop in afternoon from 2PM till 5PM - free time to wonder around in the village - Dinner
SUNDAY
Breakfast at 9AM - Workshop from 10AM till 1PM - lunch break - Workshop in afternoon from 2PM till 4PM
The schedule may change a bit according to the Sonoro concert
