Last minute, almost Christmas time.

I still can’t imagine that in just a few days it will be Christmas, even that now I’m in the airport, finishing this blog post, waiting for the check in to open. I was so excited to leave that I got up at 3 in the morning, rushing to airport to discover that I was 3 hours to early. Better in time than to late.

Why is Christmas always a time of rushing to get all things done: buying gifts, shopping for dinner, decorating the house. Lets keep it simple, specially seen it is last minute. We don’t need a lot, it should be a time of making memories with family and friends, a time of reflecting on what has happened over the last year and dreaming of the new year’s projects.

A white Christmas would be perfect , but winter didn’t arrive yet everywhere. We can create the perfect setting with just a few things. We are filling the living room and the dining table with candles, did you ever think of adding some candles outdoor? The perfect way to welcome your guests.

Bring some green inside, we don’t need a Christmas tree to create the Christmas atmosphere. Even better not to cut a big tree, knowing it takes years to grow. Ok, the are some artificial options but they are not that environment friendly, so think well. There are a lot of ideas you can realize with just some green branches: a modern wreath, a small branch in a bottle of water as an holder for candles, or the top of a tree in a vase for a minimalist Christmas decoration approach. Take out your beautiful table linen, some embroidered napkins to bring a precious touch to the Christmas table.

Christmas is a time to celebrate around the dining table. A simple white cotton or linen napkin can get very festive with a special napkin ring. Red and green stay the typical and classical Christmas colors. A red ribbon and some green leaves is all you need. You can make your own napkin rings or table decoration in case you have some extra time left. The kids can help, make it also fun for them to help you.
