Autumn: Weekend in the Mountains

Autumn arrived, the mountains are the place to go now. Enjoying the weekends when the temperatures allow us still to spend time outdoor. We will slowly see the colors change from dark green in to the warm autumn colors.

What is it that make the mountains so attractive? A simpler approach to life. Rustic materials such as wood, stone and neutral colors. Relaxing moments, curling up in an armchair with a book, blanket, a cup of tea and the open fire in the evening. Time to slow down and make memories with family and friends.

The days get shorter but we can still sit outdoor with a blanket over our knees to keep us warm and maybe you can still have lunch on the patio. Making walks on the meadows or in the forests and listen to the birds, the falling leaves or just the silence so you can hear yourself and clear your mind after a week in the office. Nature is grounding us, giving us a very comforting feeling.

Imagine yourself to wake up on a Saturday morning and see the foggy mountains just in front of you through the window. Staying under the covers a bit longer, read a book, plan the day or just start day dreaming away. The sun will appear and gives you fresh energy after an exhausting week.

You are dreaming of making your own bread, no time during the week and in summer you couldn’t wait to get out of the house to enjoy nature or hang out on the beach. But now that we start our weekends much slower and we enjoy again to be indoors and do other relaxing activities around the house it is time to try out new recipes,

A relaxed weekend with all the kids around doesn’t sound to relaxing for you. I can imagine. Create in the attic a place for them where they can play around all day with their friends. No tv, no games on the computer but time to get creative with small things so they can use their imagination and dream away of other worlds. Do you remember when you were small that you created a tent in the living room with just the dining chairs and a blanket? Or doing some crafts with the fallen leaves you picked up on your morning walk. They also need a digital detox, not just you.

We want to enjoy nature as much as we can, even on colder days. Turn that green house in an amazing dining area and feel the sun warming up the space. Some dried flowers to decorate the table, linen napkins and you are ready for some heart warming dishes.
