Pastels bring joy, comfort. They are seen as a feminine color, but you would be surprised to know that quite a lot of men love to have a bit of pastels in their life. When I do a color coaching session with men even they are sometimes surprised by the results. You knew that the color pink was for baby boys and blue for baby girls till the mid of last century?

This light and soft color can have such an impact. The street suddenly looks much more friendly on a grey week day, it makes people smile. Even the rain can’t put us in a sad mood. Pastels are easier for the eye than strong colors. Pastels are strong colors with a lot of white added to it. Maybe you are not going to paint the facade of your house in pastel, or change your interior but you can add this touch of spring by bringing flowers into your home. And some rooms are easier to be decorated with pastels than others.

The kitchen is one of them. You create an instant 50’s mood when you paint your kitchen in a light turquoise tone. Add other pastel colors to bring in a light-hearted mood. Ready for a girlish party. Even flavored milk will seduce you to drink more. By adding black you can make that this kitchen is not to girlish. A black countertop will make a nice contrast and this black and white floor will accentuate the 50’s ambiance.

Pink in the bathroom brings a refined touch, time for well-being every day of the week. Bath salt with dried roses, perfumed cremes, no better way to start the day. Adding black and white will make the bathroom look very trendy. Knowing that also men appreciate pastels, even if they maybe won’t admit it, so don’t hesitate to use pastel colors in your next bathroom. Even when you are not decorating or renovating you can add soft colored towels and why not, some floral bouquet. You can feel that your boring white bathroom get a complete new look.

Pastels are for every age. Little girls love pink and want pink in their room and for their cloths, The only comfort I can tell mothers, who are not a fan of those sweet colors, is that it will pass, in most cases. Convince them to mix the pastel colors up and have a very girlish and trendy room. Specially when you add some touches in a stronger color the pastel colors won’t look super sweet but get a very modern vibe, and not only for small girls.

Pastels in your interior will bring a very fresh look, new and modern and not only for romantic soul. Paint all the walls in one color, to make a strong statement. It is only when you start combining them with a lot of white that they get to sweet and feminine. Green plants will be perfect but what about a big cactus to give it a more edgy touch. Let it sparkle.
