Where are you? Relaxing on the beach, or in the city?
I love the city in summer, specially the weekends when everybody is rushing out to go to seaside or mountains. You can finally enjoy the city as a tourist; discovering new places, go on a guided tour, visit museums.

Sometimes, while we scroll down on social media, it seems everybody is on a holiday all summer long. But when we think we realize that this is, in best cases, two weeks out of a nice and long summer. So we have a lot of time to enjoy summer in the city. How can we enjoy every moment? Start by adding some nice colors in your home; add flowers, a printed pillow, paint a small piece of furniture. And plan some colorful candle lit dinners.

Not in the mood to cook? Get in the holiday mood, look for some easy recipes, inspired by your travels. Greek mezze, Italian insalata caprese, Spanish tapas. There are so many ways to be creative. Sometimes people tell me they are not creative. We are all creative, and after some sessions of transformational coaching through design with me they realize that it are small things that can bring joy in their life, even cooking can get a creative moment in the day.

Look on your next trip around for some hand painted tiles, they will be a colorful addition on your table, you can use them as coasters. It will be a unique way to keep your memories alive. Hand blown glasses, colorful plates, embroidered napkins, they will make you enjoy your summer longer.

Ice cream is hard to resist, specially the real Italian gelato. And I’m lucky I found the perfect place here in town. The colors can inspire you to renovate the backsplash of your kitchen, add colorful towels in the bathroom. Mix the colors as you would choose your ice cream flavors. What is your favorite flavor? Me, I love to combine dark chocolat, yes I’m Belgian, with raspberries. But also salted caramel or pistachio is on my list.

And in the weekend you can look for a nice outdoor swimming pool, When decorated with stripes in bleu or yellow you will feel in an instant in Greece. Add striped pillows on your balcony, there is no better print or weave to evoke the summer feeling. Nautical colors, and you are all set for a refreshing and relaxed afternoon with a book and a nice limonade.

Prepare a nice picnic to enjoy time outdoor with friends in the park, in the shade of a big tree. Finger food, limonade, and a nice prosecco is all you need. There are special picnic plaids on the market but a blanket of big piece of heavy cotton will do to. A small cushion will be great to give more comfort. I have to plan soon a picnic, I only discovered doing a picnic a few years ago and it is such a relaxed way of meeting friends, kids can run around and play. Everybody is happy.
