Ressource is one of the last French paint manufacturers, a family business founded in 1949. The have a great expertise in mineral pigments and commitment to the environment. They work together with designers, artists and architects to develop new color harmonies. This season they collaborated with the creative duo Heju, formed by Hélène Pinaud and Julien Schwartzmann. They take us with on a travel in their universe of sensible and powdered colors.

“To define the sixteen colors of the palette, we started with natural and timeless materials that inspire us every day to extract their essence, their poetry and their color, as evidenced by the Hêtre Savonné shade, a soft and subtle pink that has become our signature.”

In parallel Heju has developed two wallpaper designs. Not sure if wallpaper or wall covering would be the right word here as it is a collage, composed of randomly arranged flat colors. For each of us to arrange them as we would see them in the room. A perfect fit for a modern setting or a Scandinavian inspired interior. It will bring you in a creative mood and add an artsy touch to the room.

As I said before: I love those colors, they inspire me for new projects and interesting color combinations.

A play of off-whites and muted pastels

Grey is still trendy and will stay around. A play with muted pastels will make your grey interior more captivating, bringing depth to a cool and often flat color. Grey functions aa a perfect background color but you have to add something. Beauty is in the small and subtle differences. Zelliges is another material I really love, hand made in Morocco, the beauty is in their imperfections,

Earthy feeling

The warm tones you find back in natural materials, will make every room feel relaxing and cosy. As if the colors caress you. They evoke emotions, a warm feeling, the sun going down on a later summer day. A lived-in atmosphere, a patine, all will feel as it is a part of you. Often when moving into a new home you have the feeling of unknown, not here, their embrace will make you feel home from the moment you enter.

Memories of the past

The faded colors are bringing memories back of summers spend years ago. They have a poetic feeling, melancholy comes in. A relaxed feeling, where nothing can go wrong. Just be yourself, enjoy the moment, relax. Those colors have a sensitivity that can only evoke tenderness. A very feminine color harmony that will also be appreciated by the men around us. Colors that soften your environment, something we need these days.

A touch of powder pink

Masculine meets feminine. Cold colors are getting a human touch by adding a touch of powder pink and faded red tones. First impression when entering a modern minimalist interior can be cold, it is only when you look closer and see all the details, the different structures that you can understand the sophistication of this room. Adding a powdered pink or a faded red tone will warm up the ambiance.

Colors from nature

Colors from nature, end of summer, the light is saturated after a long and warm season. The light is changing, the warmth of summer is still their and is covering us as is we would put a comforting blanket around our shoulders. We enjoy this feeling, we enjoy the first signs of autumn, rich with flavors and colors. Those colors make me think of summer days spend in Tuscany, we can all remember a weekend away were we enjoy every minute of the day and refill our energy for the coming weeks or months. Those colors are perfect for an interior where natural colors are setting the tone. Only difference is that they have this glow from within that brings a warm feeling in our home.

Indulge

When I saw the paint samples, caramel was the first thing that came to my mind. Pleasure, indulge, the small things that bring joy in our life. Painting a room in those tones will have a big impact, they are bold without shouting at us. They are very deep and intense with a deep glow of sunshine. The colors make me think of the evenings in a Riad in Marrakech, the terracotta color when the sun sets down and they switch on the lights and create a magical feeling.

You feel it already, this collection makes me travel, it evokes all this feelings of holiday, dreaming away….

What about you? What is favorite color or color combination?
