When looking for images of Hygge on Google or Pinterest, you will find tons of images of rooms filled with a lot of things to make it cozy. Coziness is certainly one aspect of Hygge, but it is not everything. What if you would start with decluttering? You would calm the chaos and create a more welcoming home. Also more space in your mind to relax and get creative. Decide what distracts you or what brings more value.

What if I tell you to get up earlier in the morning? The idea makes you scared of all the things I want propose to you? Relax, fifteen minutes can make a big difference. Forget about checking your phone, this can wait. You will have time to create a little wellness moment. Home fragrances can be a powerful booster in the morning. Use some essential oils or an incense stick to create a nice moment, no better way to start your day. Thirty minutes would give you time to meditate or do some yoga. Time to figure out what is important in your life to feel in balance and to enjoy life more.

Breakfast on the run? Forget it, is not healthy and not a relaxed way to start your day well. Breakfast should not be complicated, make it easy but bring some joy around the table by a beautiful set of plates, a special spoon or a nice cotton or linen napkin. And try out some new recipes and surprises your family members with an unexpected breakfast. You feel already the joy you will bring, no better start of an ideal day.

A lot of us are working from home and we have no idea if we will ever go back to the office as we have known it till a few months ago. So let’s think how we can feel good at our home desk, feel inspired to work there the whole day and feel comfortable. Specially now that it gets colder a nice cup of tea is a perfect way to stay hydrated. The holiday period is approaching and we will have some free time; repaint that room in subtle colors, keep everything tone on tone for a soothing visual experience. Create the cozy feeling with a soft blanket or a small lamb skin. Take care that you have the perfect light all through the day. Keep your desk clean and organized, and add something special that spark joy.

Create a space you love and you will find it easier to slow down at the end of a working day. Add personal touches, have a focus point in the room; a nice reading corner with a standing lamp and a small side table. Time to sit down and just reflect on your day, build in a moment of gratitude, to appreciate the beautiful moments the day has given you, even when it was stressful, it can be something small. Learn to be present in the moment. Nice music in the background, light a candle and you are on the right way for a wonderful evening. Take extra care when choosing some light fixtures, light can have a significant impact on your life. When you buy new bulbs, go for a warmer light, cold light is good for big office spaces, not to relax..

Make your home as a refuge, create a place where you can work, play and get creative. Take the time to get creative, without putting a stress on you. Go to the art shop and buy a nice journal, start scribbling, make collages, play with colors. Start that hobby. Stop saying: later, I don’t have time now. Make time, and get going…. not having time is just an excuse.

What started as a promising day should get a closure in the night with a special touch in the bedroom. Maybe you can make a linen spray with your favorite essential oils. Prioritize comfort. Beautiful bedlinen, a small object to make you smile when you open your eyes in the morning. Reading a few pages in a nice roman with a cup of herbal tea to relax and get ready for a refreshing night sleep.
