Beginning of the year is for me always the time to declutter and to get organized. You get rid of things you don’t need, don’t wear, and everything finds it place. Throwing things out is relaxing, it is a liberating feeling.
Best way to start is to take one room after the other, first to declutter and than to see if you need something to better organize the room. Sometimes it is not more than re-organizing the space. That everything finds it’s place and life simply gets easier. A more organized home is a more relaxing home.

The entrance is the last room we pass when leaving our home in the morning and will be the first to enter when arriving home in the evening. What do we need? A place to sit and put on our shoes, find in no time the keys of the car and grab our coat. Keep it simple, not to many items so you won’t find at the end of the week a small room full of clutter that you have to organize again and again. Ok, a bit of discipline is always needed, specially when you have a family.

I can’t tell you how many times I heard the last months friends telling me they have a new member in the family; a cat or dog was bringing them joy during the lockdown. When I’m talking about more relaxing time than the home home office is for sure not the place that comes to your mind. Doing works in the house is for sure not on your relaxing list but re-decorating a room or doing some small reparations can be done in a more relaxed way when you have all tools together in a box. Works will be done much quicker and you will have plenty of time afterwards to enjoy the rest of the weekend.
