Easter is a beautiful moment to stop the hectic of life and celebrate together with friends and family. Did you take some days off and have an extra long weekend? Time to make plans. When we think of Easter we think in pastel colors. Or green and yellow for a more traditional approach. Both are not your style? No problem, Easter can match any style.
If we would ask around what are the colors they coming with Easter, than pastel will be the top favorite. It is fresh, spring like and can be as well modern as romantic. Think of your table setting in the colors you choose. Spring flowers will make a great center piece. Give your napkins a little touch. If you will be many around the table you can add name tags and mix up your friends. Perfect start for a wonderful celebration.
The style of your Easter decoration can also be defined by the location where you will celebrate. When in the countryside you can decorate in a natural way. Checked table cloth, flowers wrapped in brown paper. Mix the eggs: you will find chicken eggs, duck eggs, goose eggs and quail eggs. Get out for a walk and pick the flowers on the meadow. Inspire your kids to make the center piece for the table. Make it a relaxed celebration.
Time to start dyeing the eggs. Use natural dyeing ingredients such as cabbage for a bleu eggs. Tumeric works very well to create yellow eggs. Try out teas, coffee, mint, skin of yellow onions. This is a perfect craft activity to do with your kids. And the eggs are much nicer than when you dye them with artificial pigments. Blue and white can be a a very refreshing theme for this year’s Easter celebration. Mix all your old China porcelain.
You love the Nordic style? You can create a kind of rustic minimalist setting. Darker tones in combination with natural materials and pastel colors. In Germany and Scandinavia it’s a custom to decorate an Easter tree. If you can find some blooming branches that would be great, if not you just use some long branches and decorate them even more with pastel eggs. If the idea of a tree is to much for you, then go for an Easter wreath instead.
Simple, fresh and minimalist feeling. Not everybody loves to have their home filled with Easter decorations. We can celebrate in a modern way, there are no rules to create a specific look for Easter. An all white theme will be the perfect background for this fresh setting. White linen table cloth, with porcelain. Make a simple flower arrangement and add a welcome gift on each plate. Fill an empty egg shell with some soil and add some seeds, put them in a sunny place and after a few days you will see some green small leaves popping out.
You love color and have kids in the house. Go for it and make it a joyful celebration. There is still time to create an amazing decor, get the kids around the table and have a wonderful, creative afternoon. And if you have the tradition to give gifts then take a look if you can find some nice fabrics and wrap your gifts in a sustainable way.
