A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post on how to make your home ready to rent and to be able to find in no time the right tenant. Maybe you are the tenant and want to bring a bit of your personality in your new home without making the owner upset.
These days you can find a lot of DIY ideas on Pinterest. Macrame and dip dying are still very trendy. Now that the evenings are getting chilly or even cold, you can enjoy your first weekends or evenings inside the house in a creative mood. No better way to relax after a long day or week in the office than to do something with your hands. It can seem challenging to make such a wall hanging or some decorative macrame works, but believe me with just three knots you will be able to make a master piece. Find some cotton macrame yarn and you are all set. The dying you can do later. I would suggest to make some experiments with plants, if this seems to much trouble than you can find some dying solutions in the local art shop.
This artsy, bohemian style is quite in vogue. The positive side of this style is that you can do a lot of things on a budget, seen it is not your property and one day you will move out. Maybe you are not even allowed to change the color of the walls, add some of your macrame creations and why no, add a raffia rug on your wall to create an amazing corner.
The bedroom; a bed, some nightstands and white walls. Can be quite boring, right? Start with layering up the bed by adding a mix of pillows, a throw at the end of the bed and you will see the instant change. Move the nightstand somewhere and replace it with a round pouf to create a more cozy look. Keep the colors light, play with different shades and structures.
It is easy to change the cabinet knobs, you can find them on-line or in local furniture shops. A small touch to make the place feel more you. Those cabinet knobs come in a lot of variations; simple in metal, wooden know, porcelain, leather and even with a twist of humor. Add plants they are very decorative, bring in nature and you will even have some health benefits. Create an artistic look by arranging some pictures, sketches in simple frames.
Get creative and turn that white kitchen in to a place where you love to cook some healthy meals. On the countertop you can arrange those cooking utensils in a nice ceramic jar. Beautiful towels can bring in another homey feeling. And see what you can find to decorate the walls with and make this room feel amazing. Think out of the box and find creative solutions!
You can add in different ways your personality and feel home from day one. Some nice table linen and beautiful plates to make every meal feel special. Flowers and branches to bring a feeling of nature inside. Mirrors to enhance the light falling in in the smaller and darker rooms. And find those small decorative details which will turn each space in a picture ready room. According to your personality you can bring in color or just keep is simple in natural tones.
Add colors and plants to the bathroom and it will bring joy to you each morning you wake up and enter this room. Even when colorful rooms are not your style, remember that this room is not the room where you will spend hours, but it will bring joy even on dark days in winter. A colorful shower curtain is enough, and if you feel afterwards that those color touches are bringing joy than you can still add some colorful towels.
